Hearing Loss Barrier 4:

Incidental Learning

Ever wonder how you "magically" know something that you did not study or no one had explicitly taught you? Well...much of what we 'know" as humans is acquired incidentally. Hearing loss can cause barriers to accessing learning that occurs incidentally. Let's identify these barriers, learn ways to break down the barriers and provide more opportunities for our deaf or hard of hearing learners to access information that is acquired incidentally.

In this training, you will learn to:

1) recognize barriers to incidental learning faced by deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
2) identify strategies to provide access to information that is acquired incidentally.
3) apply the knowledge gained to their family's journey.
