From Frazzled to Focused: A Summer Reset Plan for Itinerant Teachers of the Deaf

Summer Reset for Itinerant Teachers

HARD TRUTH: many itinerant teachers find themselves running on empty.

If you’re closing out your year feeling frazzled and stretched too thin, you’re not alone. The itinerant model is one of the most rewarding yet demanding roles in special education—and it’s all too easy to lose your footing in the shuffle of multiple schools, diverse caseloads, and endless IEP meetings.

Many itinerant teachers of the deaf are ending the year:

  • Tired of sitting in their car while their to-do list grows

  • Frustrated that the best intentions didn’t materialize

  • Questioning if they can keep this pace up another year

If this is you, you’re not alone—and you’re not failing. The itinerant model is simply not sustainable without structure, systems, and support.

If you are desperate for a reset —this summer is your opportunity to change the story.

Let’s talk about the most common challenges you faced this year—and how The Online Itinerant can help you turn things around.

Challenge #1: You felt scattered and unsupported.

No one else in your district truly get what you do. You worked in isolation, made decisions without a sounding board, and constantly second-guessed your impact.

Challenge #2: Teachers didn't understand your students’ needs.

You tried to inservice 10+ staff members across multiple schools, and still, your students are sat in classrooms without access or advocacy.

Challenge #3: Your students relied on you for advocacy and access.

You wanted to build independence, but your students weren't yet self-advocating. You’re worried they’re not ready for middle school, high school—or life.

💥 You’re not burned out because you’re doing something wrong. You’re burned out because you’re trying to do everything alone.

You can change that starting this summer.  The Online Itinerant has systems put in place to help you with each of the challenges listed above.  This summer, you can change the story for next school year.   I'll help you get a plan in place so you'll be able to have a greater impact - helping teachers better understand who you are and the needs of your students, reducing the time you need at your computer,  getting your lessons and materials organized, feeling in control, and resetting your mindset for fall. Best of all, it's free—and it works.
