About The Online Itinerant

Stefanie Kessen, Founder of The Online Itinerant, saw a need for added training and support for those who work with students who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Stefanie's experience includes over 20 years in varying roles as an Interpreter, Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Education Specialist for Students Who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.   Through these roles, Stefanie has provided direct service, consultations and trainings on meeting specific needs of DHH students.  She has collaborated with families and professionals around the state of Wisconsin and the US.  Through these collaborations and connections, Stefanie has provided many trainings and connected with multiple other experts in the field.  Now, through The Online Itinerant, she is excited to have the opportunity to bring this expertise to others, regardless of location.

Stefanie launched The Online Itinerant with a team of Founding Members  in 2017 to identify the training needs for those who work with DHH students around the nation.  During its pilot year, The Online Itinerant's Founding Members engaged in developing a website that will grow to  be expansive and powerful in meeting the needs for all members of the IEP team in supporting students with hearing loss.

The goal of The Online Itinerant is to bring professionals together and provide training and support to better meet the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students, especially those being served through the itinerant model.
